And time for some home made lemonade to quench that thirst, as we head down the legendary Via Dolorosa.

You’ll find plenty of these home made containers in Israel, full of various juices and vibrant colors, usually in street corner kiosk-type shops, and manned by a toothless old geezer. Definitely a great alternative to the regular Coke or Sprite. Love the zesty feel to this pic, taken by henrik.schwarz, who has some great pix of Israel here.

One of the sweetest things you’ll come across in Israel is the Arab desserts, especially the baklava, which I think the dessert pictured is a type of. Very sticky, very sweet!
