This week it’s time for some Spring goodness. Thankfully the winter in Israel really isn’t a winter, but even so, when Spring makes an appearance, it can knock you for six. If you can, step out of the center of the country and head either north or south. Up north the fruit blossoms are out, while the recent rain (including last night!) has made everything green and lush. This weekend’s hot tip: get out and see Israel in bloom!

This shot was taken by aroundtheisland, a lass from central Israel with a bevy of fine beauties in her photostream. Check her out. And click to big – you won’t be disappointed.

This week I’m heading down the road from my house for a shot of the magnificent Sea Of Galilee. Every time I head down towards the Sea of Galilee (or the Kinneret as it’s known in Hebrew) I’m reminded of past holidays and long drunken weekends, so it will always hold some magical memories for me. Ahem, there’s absolutely no proof of anyone spotting me, early morning, kipping on the traffic islands near Tiberias back in the late-90s. It’s all lies. Lies I tell you!

This picture (go on, click to big!) was taken by andy_deitsch, a guy with some stunning shots in his collection.

This week we are heading up north for a nice little shot of the Sea of Galilee, or the Kinneret as it’s known in Hebrew. As it’s Israel’s primary source for drinking water, the level of the Sea of Galilee becomes a national news story almost every time there’s rain in Israel. Currently, the level is at an alarmingly low level, but with high hopes of a wet winter, things are looking a little rosier.

For those of you interested, here’s a regularly updated report on the level of the Sea of Galilee, via Twitter.

The picture was taken by rev_411, a guy with some great shots in his collection, but I couldn’t see any more of Israel so I’m guessing he was here on holiday. Check him out!
