I love Israel. Had I been younger on my first visit, I am sure I would have never left either. It's hard to go home when I feel like I am at home in Israel. It's very confusing. I love the US but my heart and soul are in Israel. I love your stories and feel the passion in what you are expressing.

I'll never forget my golf war experience.
I was 17 at the time, and my father, that was a platoon commander in the "hagana" (the underground during the british mandate)and participated in the war of independence (fighting with old Czech rifles and molotov cocktail against tanks) wasn't really impressed with Sadam. He decided one evening to go a 2 streets from our house at the time to my mother's kindergarten to do some painting and maintenance (since there was no school). So I started painting chairs and put the radio to hear some music, and after some time I hear the code name "viper" repeated 3 times and suddenly all hell broke loose. sirens howling in stereo from the radio and all around. I managed to convince my father that we'd better head home asap since my mother was there alone, and we also had our masks there. When we've reached the staircase of our apartment I heard a horrifying whistle and then the loudest bang ever. The iron case of the roof hatch was wrapped open from the blast. obviously a scud fell nearby. we climbed the 3 floors like crazy, and stormed into the sealed room.
Later we've found that the scud fell in the street we where, a 200 m away from my mother's kindergarten, flatening 4 two-story apartment buildings. The kindergarten suffer some damage. a wall collapsed, some of the furniture broke etc. If we've stayed there we were probably suffering some injury(at best).
