Picture of the Week LXIV

Off we go to Jerusalem again this week, with a quick peek into life in the bazaar in the Old City. It’s a Friday evening and all is quiet and relaxed…

The picture was taken by Jonas Hansel, a guy from Holland who looks like he was on holiday here a couple of years ago. Click to big to get the full effect.

Seal, LIVE in Israel!

Seal was here last week, performing at the Ra’anana Amphitheater. Apparently he managed to win the audience over with some frequent personal interaction with the crowd.

Here he is performing My Vision, and the second video is of him dancing with a girl from the crowd. Nice job Seal!

Picture of the Week LXIII

This week’s pic is of one of the most well-known landmarks in the Holy Land the world, the Dome of the Rock. This Islamic shrine that sits on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem is in fact the oldest Islamic building in the world. Personally I’ve never stepped inside but have walked around the courtyard outside, camera a-flashing.

The picture was taken by Serithian, who has some mighty fine HD pics from all around Israel in his photo stream. Well worth checking out.

A Seal in Tel Aviv!

90s legend Seal has arrived in Tel Aviv (he’s scheduled to perform at the Ra’naana Amphitheatre, which is just outside Tel Aviv, tomorrow night) and he’s already loaded up a video of his Tel Aviv hotel view - and what a view!

Welcome to Tel Aviv, Seal!

Picture of the Week LXII

Sunset season over here in Israel, and when mixed with the beautiful beaches of Israel (this shot is from Herzliya beach, just down the road from Tel Aviv), you can’t really go wrong. As for the guy in the pic: you often see these guys go out on their longboards, they’re usually the lifeguards who are out paddling when things are quiet on the beach.

The pic was taken by Dan2007, a guy from Tel Aviv. You know what I’m going to say next, right…? That’s right, go check his photostream out!

Picture of the Week LXI

A nice little sunset for you this week. One with lots of nice, warm, glowing colors. And a big, juicy palm tree to prove we’re in Israel. I love sunsets! And Israel has some stunning sunsets…

The picture was taken by Tomer L. Makiyes, an art photographer from Pardes Hanna in Israel. He has some awesome shots in his collection, go check them out!

War in Tel Aviv! It’s OK, it’s the 2010 Water War!

Last week saw the annual water fight in Kikar Rabin in Tel Aviv. It’s fast become an annual happening in Tel Aviv (I think it only started 4 or 5 years ago, if that) and plenty of photographers turn up. Guess that might be something to do with those wet t-shirts…Here’s a clip to give you a taste of what happened.

Rod Stewart live in Tel Aviv!

Good old Rod! I guess if his mate Elton can come here and show the world how to do it, there wasn’t much danger of him canceling Thursday night’s Tel Aviv show. Here’s a splash of Baby Jane for you…
