It’s time to parrrrty! And to help you bring in the New Year like the wild party person we know you are (ahem…), we’ve come up with a sure-fire list of great things to enjoy this New Year’s Eve. The 5 very best ways to see 2017 in with a smile!
Just so you know, New Years Eve is known as Sylvester (after the Feast of Pope Sylvester, celebrated on December 31 in many Eastern European countries). Just take that into consideration when talking with Israelis, as many will not know what you’re talking about if you refer to it as New Years Eve…
This is an awesome way to see in the New Year, with a pub crawl through some of Tel Aviv’s trendiest and sexiest night spots. We’ve done the regular pub crawl with the charming Eviatar, and can vouch for a superb night out. Starting at the Sputnik bar on Allenby Street, Eviatar will guide you through some of the must-see bars in Tel Aviv, including Jimmy Who? and BuXa. For just 120 shekels you get VIP entrance (no queuing!), without the hassle and aggro you’d typically get on a busy night out in Tel Aviv. You also get a free beer/Cava at each bar, with a free shot thrown in just to loosen you up!

We fell in love with Abraham Hostel Tel Aviv this summer, and you’ll be pleased to know they’ve been improving still further, with a whole ton of events happening on an almost nightly basis. And their Sylvester party looks like one NOT to miss, with a whole bunch of DJs performing (Masha, Roni Amitai, Adi Shabat and Anna Haleta), together with a free shot for everyone, and a bunch of awesome raffle prizes to collect! Early birds can buy tickets for 30 shekels, otherwise expect to pay 55 shekels on the night.

The very trendy and rather cool Brown and Poli House hotels are celebrating New Year’s Eve with a double-billing of fun and good times! Expect some of the best DJs around (6 of them in total!), live shows, art projections and food and booze til you drop. You only have to purchase one ticket and you have access to both parties (a ticket will set you back 275-300 shekels but this looks like a cracking party!).
The action starts at 20:00 – for more details, see the event page on Facebook.
Head to one of Tel Aviv’s coolest clubs, Radio EPGB (7 Shadal Street, Tel Aviv) for a FREE night of hip hop legends. If you love your hip hop, this is your destination (expect queues big-time so get there early).
Here’s another great FREE option – take that special someone to Tel Aviv beach, bring a sheet or blanket to sit on, and cuddle up as the New Year kicks in. You could always bring a bottle of your fave tipple to make those private celebrations flow even better – and you could always substitute “someone special” for your favorite group of friends. After all, it’s not just about where you celebrate, but more about with whom…
There are plenty of other great places throughout Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and beyond, where you can get to enjoy the New Year. The following places typically have some very decent NYE parties: the Anna Lou Lou bar in Yafo (HaPninim 1), the Breakfast Club (Rothschild 6, Tel Aviv), the Student Union at Tel Aviv University, Soho in Rishon Letzion (Moshe Bakar 15), Oliver Twist bar (HaNeviim 59, Jerusalem), Oscar Wilde (HaShaham 36, Petah Tikva), and Syncopa (Kiat 5, Haifa).
