The first ever Masada Project takes place May 30 – June 1, 2013!
In what looks like being an impressive alternative to the annual Masada Opera Festival (postponed this year), the Masada Project is a tribute to Israeli Performing Arts, and will take place at the foot of Masada on May 30 – June 1.
Many thousands are expected at this unique event at the lowest point on earth, and with a number of Israel’s finest on stage, it promises to be something special.
The first night (Thursday, May 30) sees legendary Shalom Hanoch perform his famous White Wedding album, an album that reinvented the Israeli rock’n’roll scene over 30 years ago, with special cameo performances from Aviv Geffen, Tom and Orit (from local rockers HaYehudim), Dag Nahash, and Shlomi Shaban.
The second night (Friday, May 31) sees Mayumana, a very successful Israeli ensemble, perform a unique Israelified version of Racconto (retrospective), which was first performed in Spain in 2012. The show will include some of their best moments over the years, and will also feature an exciting and historic cooperation between Yehudit Ravitz and Ahuva Ozeri.
The closing night (Saturday, June 1) features legendary Israeli singer Shlomo Artzi, making a return to Masada after some 20 years for a one-time special performance at the foothills of Masada in front of an expected 6000 fans. Also featured: Avraham Tal, Dudu Tasa, and new sensation Ester Rada, who will be joining the new tour as a guest star.
Looks like being a cracker!
