Win an awesome slice of Israeli history this Hanukkah!

Israel is born!OK, it’s Hanukkah time, and time for seasonal gifts and goodwill, so – PRIZE TIME!!

You history fans will love this – this time we’re giving away a slice of amazing, genuine Israeli history that comes in TWO parts:

FIRST UP – Israel’s Birthday Newspaper – a copy of the New York Times from May 15, 1948, (a reprint of the New York Times on the day Israel’s independence was announced, back in 1948).

SECONDLY History of Israel from the New York Times – 62 pages of historic coverage featuring Israel, starting way back at the Zionist Congress and which continues on through the present.

Pretty impressive, even if we say it ourselves!

And to get your hands on these amazing pieces of history, all you have to do is add a comment below (make sure you enter your email address so we can contact you) OR head on over to our Facebook page (click here) and Like this post, the one about the prize.

As Ambassador of Israel to the United States, Dr. Michael B. Oren, said about the May 1948 reprint: “This newspaper is an incredible piece of history, and serves an important resource in documenting our history.”

The winner will be randomly selected using our Random Name Picker and announced on Sunday the 16th December, the last day of Hanukkah. We’ll then get in touch and post it to you. Don’t forget – if you’re not in it, you can’t win it!

Good luck, and Happy Hanukkah!

That newspaper would look great framed on my office wall! Shame the New York Times doesn’t have many nice things to say about Israel on its front page these days.
