The Coffee Bar, Tel Aviv

| October 26, 2009 | 0 Comments

Don’t be deceived by the name; the Coffee Bar is neither a cafe or a bar, it’s actually a very decent Bistro that leaves a good impression on almost everyone who visits. The Coffee Bar is located in one of Tel Aviv’s more happening “industrial” neighborhoods, kind of south-central, where a number of restaurants and bars have sprung up over the last few years…

It’s a lively place, always full, seemingly round the clock. I used to go there quite often because I worked just round the corner and they had a great business lunch deal that always left you full. The Coffee Bar business lunch runs from 12:00 to 16:00, but you might be pushed to find a table. I’ve also heard Friday nights can be extremely busy, which isn’t much of a surprise as the whole neighborhood has recently become a bit of a hotspot.

Worth a visit is the Coffee Bar. The place is very nicely decorated with lots of real chunky wood, while the food is generally excellent, accompanied by nice, smiling waiters/waitresses. But is that huge bowl of flowers still there?

For some hamburgers in red wine, or sea food risotto, or even posh bangers and mash (OK, make that merguez sausages with potato puree), the Coffee Bar could be the place for you. If you want to make your mouth water, here is the Coffee Bar breakfast menu (English/Hebrew), the brunch menu, the lunch menu and the evening menu. Oh crikey…

Not too cheap, but not terribly expensive. One of those Tel Aviv restaurants that you really should try to check out on a visit to Tel Aviv…
