Even more signs your Israel tourist visa has expired…
Continuing on from these three posts, here are yet another 10 signs you might have forgotten to visit the Ministry of Interior in quite a while…while those of you looking for practical info on getting an Israeli visa should take a look over here…
I should just remind you that this series is for those of us who have maybe stayed a bit longer than anticipated (ahem, 18+ years?!), and hopefully will give you an insight into daily life in Israel and to what we’ve gotten used to over time…
Here they are, another 10 signs you haven’t extended your Israel tourist visa in quite a while…
- …you no longer ask yourself why there are so many jeeps in this country.
- …you can swear fluently in Arabic.
- …your family stops asking when you’ll be coming back.
- …you regard traffic signals, stop signs, and indicator levers with equal disdain.
- …car accidents become a source of heartwarming humor.
- …you forget that the other person needs to finish speaking before you can start.
- …you arrive 30 minutes late for a meeting but still manage to beat the other meeting attendees.
- …you ask how much people are making and expect people to answer.
- …you are the last of your original group of friends still in Israel.
- …your idea of a larger home is an extra 10 square meters.

Ashley,
Having been to Israel only once, I get most of what you saying! Ironically, it is not unlike being new to any country … except for the incessant beeping! Our hotel room in Tel Aviv was 10 floors up and when you heard the beeping at 3 o’clock in the morning all you would see was the one car at the corner light, laying on the horn. It was hysterical. We are renting a tiny flat for our next trip and I really get the space thing. One of my friends who is coming with us to Israel next month has never been. I can hardly wait to see her expressions when she sees the size of our place and hears the constant beeping all night. She wanted a flat that looked out over the street (Ben Yehuda). I think she is going to get an earful to be sure. I’m bringing the earplugs! ha ha

Ahh, the beeping. So used to it now. I miss it when I go back home to England…
